Anthropic Finance Plugins: Complete Guide
07 May 2026

Anthropic just dropped a marketplace of finance plugins. Twenty-plus tools, built for banks, hedge funds, and PE firms. Most of them aren’t for you. Four of them are. Here’s the complete guide on which ones change the game, how to use them, and how to set them up.

Four plugins

Of every plugin in the new financial-services marketplace, exactly four are built for you. Equity Research is the all-in-one analyst workspace. Earnings Reviewer is sharper and faster. Financial Analysis handles the math. Market Researcher zooms out across sectors. This guide covers how to use each one, what they’re good for, what they can’t do, and how to install them.

How to Get Started: Installation & Setup

All four plugins live in the same place: the Anthropic Finance Marketplace. Here’s how to access them and set up your workspace once.

Global Setup Steps
1
Sign Up for Anthropic Finance Marketplace
Visit anthropic.com/finance-marketplace and create an account. You’ll need Claude Pro or Enterprise access to use any of the plugins.
2
Browse the Plugin Directory
Once logged in, you’ll see all available plugins. Search for “Equity Research,” “Earnings Reviewer,” “Financial Analysis,” or “Market Researcher.”
3
Install Each Plugin
Click “Install” or “Add to Workspace” on any plugin. You can install all four, or start with one and add others as you get comfortable.
4
Configure Your Workspace
Set your preferences once: default sectors, asset classes, reporting style, and data sources. These settings apply across all plugins.
Example preferences: Sectors: Tech, Healthcare, Financials Asset classes: Large-cap equities Report style: Detailed Data source: SEC Edgar + Market data
5
Start With One Plugin
Pick one plugin to master first (we recommend starting with Equity Research or Earnings Reviewer). Use it for 2-3 weeks before layering in the others.

Plugin 01: Equity Research

Full sell-side workspace. Earnings, initiating coverage, theses, screening. Everything an institutional analyst does, available to you in minutes instead of weeks.

01 • All-In-One
Equity Research

Your institutional-grade analyst workspace. Build equity research reports, earnings analysis, coverage initiation, investment theses, and stock screening — all from a single interface.

Slash Commands Inside
/earnings-analysis
Drafts an 8–12 page earnings update report (3,000–5,000 words) from any quarterly earnings transcript, 10-Q, or earnings release.
/initiating-coverage
Produces a full institutional-quality initiation report through a 5-step workflow (investment thesis, financial model, valuation, risks, price target).
/earnings
Quick quarterly earnings analysis — 3-5 page summary, sharper and faster than the full earnings-analysis report.
/initiate
Entry point for initiating coverage. Guides you through the process step-by-step.
/screen
Runs a stock screen based on your criteria or generates investment ideas based on sector/theme inputs.
/thesis
Creates or updates an investment thesis on a stock you own. Documents why you own it, what needs to change.
Use It For
AAPL just reported earnings.
Drop the earnings transcript into /earnings-analysis. In three minutes, get back a ten-page institutional research note covering revenue mix, segment performance, guidance changes, the Services growth angle, gross margin expansion, every risk management buried in the call, and analyst questions management avoided. Same format you’d pay Goldman Sachs $10K to write. Same depth. Same quality. Now you have it in your own research system.
You own Microsoft and want to update your thesis. Run /thesis with the latest earnings, quarterly results, and macro context. The plugin updates your investment thesis document automatically, flagging what changed and what no longer holds.
Honest Limit
Garbage in, garbage out. The report is only as good as the inputs you feed it — a transcript, a 10-K, a press release, your company analysis. Without inputs, it sits idle. It won’t tell you whether to buy AAPL. It’ll tell you what changed and where the risks sit. The decision is still yours. It also won’t catch everything on a call — if management deliberately obscures something, the plugin will miss it too.

Plugin 02: Earnings Reviewer

One company just reported. Read the call. Update the model. Done. The fastest way to process earnings and update your assumptions in real time.

02 • Sharp & Fast
Earnings Reviewer

Fast-turnaround earnings analysis. Processes earnings calls, transcripts, and press releases in minutes. Extracts the delta (what changed) and updates your model automatically.

Slash Commands Inside
/earnings-delta
Extracts only what changed: revenue guidance, margin assumptions, capital plans, tone shifts, missed expectations.
/model-update
Automatically updates your financial model with new guidance and assumptions from the earnings call.
/quick-summary
1-2 minute read: only the critical facts. What beat? What missed? What matters?
/risks-flagged
Extracts all risk mentions from the call. Flags risks management highlighted, new risks, and downplayed risks.
Use It For
Earnings season. You have 50 holdings. Time is everything.
Use /earnings-delta on each earnings call. Feed it the transcript. Get back: revenue growth vs. guidance, gross margin movement, operating leverage, capital allocation changes, macro commentary. Three minutes per call instead of 45. You now have the delta for all 50 names in one earnings season night. Update your models. Adjust positions. Move on.
Your /model-update command automatically feeds the new guidance into your Excel model. No manual entry. No transcription errors. Your model is current by 6 PM on earnings day.
Honest Limit
Speed creates blind spots. Earnings Reviewer gets the headline delta, but misses subtlety. If management buries a major strategic shift in casual commentary 45 minutes into the call, you might miss it. It’s designed for speed, not nuance. It also can’t predict if the market will care about what changed. A margin miss might be noise or a sign of structural deterioration — the plugin surfaces the delta; you decide the impact.

Plugin 03: Financial Analysis

DCF, comps, three-statement models, audits — straight in your Excel. Let the plugin handle the math. You handle the assumptions that actually matter.

03 • The Math
Financial Analysis

Quantitative modeling engine. Builds DCF models, comparable company analysis, three-statement financial models, and audits your assumptions for inconsistency. All work in Excel or your preferred tool.

Slash Commands Inside
/dcf
Build a complete DCF model. Specify revenue growth, margin expansion, capex assumptions, and WACC. The plugin handles the 10-year projection, terminal value, and sensitivity analysis.
/comps
Comparable company analysis. Builds a comp table across EV/Revenue, EV/EBITDA, P/E, and other multiples. Flags outliers and builds a valuation range.
/three-statement
Connected Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statement models. All interconnected so changes cascade correctly.
/audit
Audits your model for inconsistencies. Checks: revenue growth assumptions, margin sustainability, capex alignment with growth, debt paydown vs. cash generation.
/scenario
Runs base case, bull case, bear case scenarios. Shows valuation across outcomes.
/sensitivity
Builds sensitivity tables. Show valuation across revenue growth / WACC, or any two variables you choose.
Use It For
You think SaaS company XYZ is overvalued. Prove it.
Build your base case assumptions (subscription revenue growth 25%, gross margin 75%, tax rate 15%, WACC 8%). Run /dcf. Get back a 10-year projection and valuation. Run /scenario for bull and bear cases. Now you have a valuation range. Run /sensitivity to see which assumptions drive value most. The math is airtight. Your assumptions are under a microscope.
Before you short it, run /audit. The plugin flags: “Your capex is only 3% of revenue, but revenue is growing 25%. Can the company reinvest that aggressively and hit those margins?” Maybe not. The plugin forces you to resolve the tension. Your model becomes defensible.
Honest Limit
The model is only as good as your assumptions. Financial Analysis builds a perfect model from bad assumptions just as easily as from good ones. If you assume revenue grows 40% forever, the plugin will model it faithfully — but the result is garbage. The plugin can’t tell you what revenue growth should be. It can tell you what happens if you assume it. You remain responsible for the assumptions.

Plugin 04: Market Researcher

Whole-sector views. Find ideas, compare peers, map a theme. Stop reading 10 research reports. Let the plugin synthesize them for you.

04 • Wide-Angle
Market Researcher

Macro and sector analysis. Maps competitive dynamics, identifies emerging trends, builds peer comparisons, and surfaces sector opportunities. Think of it as your personal sector research analyst.

Slash Commands Inside
/sector
Creates a sector overview report: growth rates, competitive positioning, key players, macro tailwinds/headwinds.
/sector-overview
Deep-dive sector analysis. Competitive dynamics, margin profiles, growth drivers, regulatory risks, and technology disruption.
/morning-note
Daily or weekly sector/macro note. What’s moving? What matters? What to watch?
/peer-map
Builds a competitive map. Shows who competes with whom, where pricing power sits, who’s gaining/losing share.
/theme-analysis
Analyzes a sector theme (e.g., AI infrastructure spending, cloud consolidation) and identifies which companies benefit.
/idea-generation
Scans the sector for underexplored opportunities. Flags overlooked winners and overlooked value traps.
Use It For
You own one semiconductor stock. What’s the competitive landscape?
Run /peer-map. Get back a competitive matrix: which companies compete with NVIDIA on data-center chips? Who’s taking share in automotive? Who’s fighting on cost in commodity memory? The plugin maps the entire sector. You see your company’s position. You see who’s vulnerable. You see who’s winning on margin.
Run /theme-analysis on “AI accelerator demand.” The plugin surfaces: which companies win if NVIDIA stays dominant? Which win if AMD/custom silicon gains share? What’s priced in? Run /idea-generation for overlooked names in the semiconductor ecosystem (fabless design, packaging, test companies) that benefit from AI acceleration without the NVIDIA valuation premium.
Honest Limit
Market Researcher is synthesis, not discovery. It works with public information, analyst reports, and market data. If a critical technology shift is still private or technical knowledge is siloed in a company, the plugin won’t surface it. It’s also only as fresh as the data it pulls. If the sector has moved in the last 48 hours and nobody’s written about it yet, the plugin won’t have it. Use it to understand structure; use your judgment to spot what’s changing.

The Takeaway

Anthropic’s finance marketplace democratizes institutional tools. For the first time, retail investors get access to the same research and analysis plugins that power hedge fund desks. The four plugins covered here — Equity Research, Earnings Reviewer, Financial Analysis, and Market Researcher — each solve a real problem in how investors work.

These aren’t replacements for your thinking. They’re accelerators. They handle the mechanical work — writing reports, processing earnings, building models, mapping sectors — so you can focus on judgment. On what actually matters. On the assumptions that drive returns.

Pick one. Install it. Build your workflow around it. Then layer in the others as your confidence grows. Start small, iterate, and let the plugins become part of how you think about investing.
